Andalucia leads the way as property sales start to pick up all over Spain
From figures released to today by the INE (Spanish national institute of statistics) Sales were up 13.7% this September year on year and up 14.9% from the previous month.
Andalucia, where the recovery has been well under way all year, leads the volume of transactions at 5,363 - up 5% from last year.
Andalucia’s international market with the Costa del Sol catering to foreign buyers of holiday and retirement homes has a clear jump on the rest of the country.
However Madrid, Asturias and Cantabria all show sales volumes up by over 40% indicating that the recovery is spreading across the country as the national market begins to recuperate as well.
Drilling down into the figures we can see that the total volume of properties sold was 27,024. New builds remain popular with 8,956 sold, and then number of resale properties has increased to 18,068. Even the volume of council house sales is up to 2,928.
These figures all tally well with what we are seeing down here on the ground. Buyer confidence has returned to the market and clients who were once window shoppers are now buyers. The remaining developer and bank deals are being purchased consistently and great priced resales don’t stay on the market for very long.
As the message becomes clearer and clearer, perhaps now is the time to make your move.
